www3.sunstar.com.ph/manila/overwhelming-support-bea-john-lloydOverwhelming support for Bea, JOHN LLOYD Thursday, February 25, 2010 KAPAMILYA love team JOHN LLOYD Cruz and Bea Alonzo didn't expect the support and love they received from the fans in their latest movie “Miss You Like Crazy." The movie, which had a back-to-back premiere night last Tuesday in Trinoma and SM Mega Mall, was well attended not only by fans but also their by showbiz friends. For updates from around the country, follow Sun.Star on Twitter Spotted in the event were latest love team PBB Double Up Big Winner Melisa Cantiveros and Jason Francisco (3rd placer). The two were joined by Johan Santos (4th placer) and Tibo Jumallon (5th placer). Gretchen Barretto, Aiza Seguerra, “Rubi” star Angelica Panganiban, Rayver Cruz, Vhong Navarro, Sam Milby, and Anne Curtis also attended the premiere night at SM Mega Mall. JOHN LLOYD and Bea told Sun.Star that attending another premiere night and seeing the never-ending support of their fans is like doing it on the first time. “Para akong bumabalik dati, hindi ko alam yung nangyayari. Parang first time lahat,” Bea said. JOHN LLOYD, for his part, said he's very happy with all the things that “Miss You Like Crazy” achieved even early on its play date and the people who did everything for their movie. He said they are still surprise with all the support given by their fans and its a new experience for them. “Napaka vital, napaka essential yun sa would-be-success na gusto ko ng i-claim at this point kasi kung hindi naman dahil dun sa three years na hindi kami nagkasama, it won't be the same,” he added. “Hindi ko maabot yung mga naabot ko individually as an actor kung hindi kami nag part ways.” Bea also said they needed to grow separately and to gain wisdom, knowledge, and experience by themselves. When asked to react on the praises they got from co-showbiz stars, their fans and all moviegoers who watched the film, both JOHN LLOYD and Bea said there's still so much to learn. “Mas masarap maging estudyante, masa masarap yung laging may matututunan kesa alam mo lahat,” Bea said. JOHN LLOYD added: “There's still so much to learn but its always nice to, somewhere a long the way, appreciate yourself, your hard work. It's always flattering to hear that, pero mas masarap mag focus dun sa mga bagay na that will continue to provide drive, intensity, eagerness and knowledge.” “Miss You Like Crazy,” first day nationwide gross projection reached P18 million. The two are endlessly saying their thank you to everyone who watched movies by ABS-CBN. “If its not for them, we won't be here. It's is only right to give them good films and to make them happy,” Bea said. “Miss You Like Crazy” is still open in over 100 theaters nationwide. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)

Wika nga, worth your while and effort.
Never mind, kung siyempre, binibigyan nila ng priority ang mga celebrities who will help sell the magazine. Ang importante, you are, wika nga, given a space.
It was, halimbawa, nice na makita ang mag-asawang sina Aga Muhlach at Charlene Gonzales, who after nearly 10 years of being married, akala mo, newly-weds pa rin. In looks and in the way, they attend to each other.
JOHN LLOYD came straight from the premiere sa Megamall ng Miss You Like Crazy.
Angel Locsin, on her part, came naman from another event.
Both Aga and JOHN LLOYD are playing leading men to Angel, Aga in a Star Cinema movie, and JOHN LLOYD, in an uncoming series ng ABS CBN.
“Sa totoo lang,” exclaimed Angel, “just the prospect of working with them is giving me a high. I feel so lucky.”

www.spot.ph/2010/02/26/ria-limjap-on-miss-you-like-crazy-love-and-timing/Ria Limjap ‘Miss You Like Crazy’: Love and timing By Ria Limjap February 26, 2010
‘Miss You Like Crazy’: Love and timing How do I say this? I’ve warmed up to the “watery charms” of JOHN LLOYD Cruz. I once used that offending phrase about him, but a girl can change her mind. As I sat watching Star Cinema’s post-Valentine offering Miss You Like Crazy, I was thankful that the movie is all about him. He plays Alan Alvarez, a regular guy with a good job, a pretty girlfriend, and an okay life. One day on the Pasig River Ferry, he meets the girl who will change his life forever. Bea Alonzo, that creamy-skinned leading lady du jour, plays Mia Samonte, a down-to-earth girl who falls for Alan’s nice guy game. Problem: he’s in a relationship with someone else. You can take it from there. I don’t want to reveal too much about the plot of this “thought provoking romantic drama” (the words of Star Cinema not mine) because, er, there’s not much to reveal. Its pure formula but they do develop the characters nicely, giving them back story and complete arcs. Sadly, as much as JOHN LLOYD and Bea are popular and profitable as a love team, they are unevenly matched in acting ability. Even if JOHN LLOYD doesn’t have the kind of bone structure that the camera loves, there’s something about him that is subtly convincing that he’s real and vulnerable. Unfortunately, Bea Alonzo (who is undoubtedly pretty) isn’t as convincing. Perhaps she relies on her prettiness a little too much? Even when she’s acting “crazy” (like crying on public transportation and tossing peanuts into her mouth also on public transportation), she’s still just a pretty girl acting like a fool. (See the early work of Hilda Koronel if you want a beautiful girl with acting chops to match.) I’m really not a huge fan of Star Cinema’s movie titles, which inevitably use a super sappy song title as the movie’s theme AND title. (It’s about record sales for them because didn’t Aiza Seguera and Erik Santos record the theme song and isn’t it released on Star Records?) However, I appreciate their practice of casting amazing actors in supporting roles. Bembol Roco as Mia’s invalid father will move you to tears by just lying there. The performances of Maricar Reyes, Jun Urbano, Noel Trinidad, and the Malaysian actor Gerald Hans Isaac are all assets for the movie. The third generation of the famous acting Mesa-Gil clan stand out, even in supporting roles the natural talent and good acting genes of cousins Ryan Eigenmann and Sid Lucero cannot be denied. My perpetual favorite Ketchup Eusebio also has a role as Mia’s gay friend, and he does it with sensitivity and depth as always. But I think the real credit should go to Cathy Garcia-Molina, director of Miss You Like Crazy. She pulled off the complicated blocking of a meeting-in-traffic scene—which entailed a kalesa horse pissing in the middle of Chinatown—and a fairly tasteful love scene set against the staircase of an old house. And while the inherent cheesiness of Miss You Like Crazy cannot be avoided (much like JOHN LLOYD’s Greenwich pizza) I must admit that in the end I was absorbed by this story about love and timing. Ever the optimist, I wanted the hero to end up with the girl. I mean, why not the happy ending? These days it is increasingly rare, almost mythical, but always possible in movies.

'Miss You Like Crazy' earns P18 million on 1st dayMANILA, Philippines – “Miss You Like Crazy," Star Cinema’s post-Valentine offering, earned a projected P18 million in ticket sales on its first day of screening on Wednesday (February 24), “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon” reported. Directed by Ms. Cathy Garcia-Molina, “Miss You Like Crazy," is the reunion movie project of the country's popular love team -- Bea Alonzo and JOHN LLOYD Cruz. Cruz did "One More Chance" with Alonzo three years ago. "I'm very happy with the reception of the people. I'm so scared, I am so tense coming from 'One More Chance,' 'A Very Special Love' and 'You Changed My Life'. This is very different from it. So, kasali yon sa tension ko kung tatanggapin ng manonood yong medyo ibang timpla ng pelikula," director Molina said. The film has received good reviews, especially with the way the lead stars played mature roles. "Happy if they are commending that it is . Ibig sabihin, kahit paano ay naging successful kami ni Bea at LLOYDY," Molina added.
"Kung napansin nila, salamat. All in all, we are very thankful kasi bihira yong ganito na marami ang tumatanggap at nago-open, at ito'y para sa inyo," Cruz said
Also part of the film are stars Jun Urbano, Ryan Eigenmann, Malou De Guzman, Ina Feleo, Ketchup Eusebio, Dianne Medina, Bembol Roco and Maricar Reyes.

[ur]http://showbizandstyle.inquirer.net/entertainment/entertainment/view/20100226-255553/Romance-reunites-John-Lloyd-Bea[/url Philippine Daily Inquirer By Rito Asilo
NOW SHOWING: Romance reunites JOHN LLOYD, Bea
“MISS YOU LIKE CRAZY,” JOHN LLOYD Cruz and Bea Alonzo’s big-screen reunion, doesn’t offer a lot of insights about love, but it nonetheless allows the popular couple’s thespic muscles to flex. In fact, their love team is fortunate to have three things going for it: Unforced chemistry, natural likability and romantic synergy—with maturing dramatic chops to boot.
Sugar-coated musings and romantic platitudes start dripping from the get-go: When the lonely-but-attached Allan Alvarez (Cruz) meets the problematic-but-kooky-when-convenient Mia Samonte (Alonzo) during their quotidian commute on a ferry boat, sparks fly. It doesn’t take long before their dreary lives and sob stories bring them closer together.
But, a screen romance doesn’t earn a lot of fairy-tale points without a conflict that keeps viewers riveted. Will Allan and Mia ever get the happily-ever-after ending they crave?
Director Cathy Garcia-Molina’s eager-to-please movie boasts of above-par production values and a good serving of Malaysia’s scenic hotspots. But, its thin story largely relies on formula and narrative sleights of hand to shuttle from one predictable plot point to another.
The results are unsurprisingly hit-and-miss: While Bea’s kooky episodes infuse much-needed energy and adrenaline to the exposition, it also makes the effusive actress look occasionally unhinged.
And, once heavy drama kicks in, the narrative moves in a long, slow grind as it shuttles between Allan and Mia’s respective situations.
Cruz and Alonzo are given a number of scenes to show off their thespic skills: Bea’s shining moment comes when her character tells her Muslim boyfriend her real feelings.
But, it’s JOHN LLOYD who impresses the most—especially when Allan is shown in moments of utter longing and loneliness: His wordless reaction upon seeing the elusive Mia after two years is priceless. Those on-cue tears alone are worth the price of admission

Heard that the movie grossed a cool P18M, yes, P18M when it opened last Wednesday in more than 100 theaters nationwide.
Lalong bow kami sa klase ng audience na “hinahakot” ng pelikula, a combination of, wika nga, the ordinary followers ng local films at mayayaman from the plush villages in Makati, Ortigas, Greenhills and Quezon City.
Nu’ng premiere ng Miss You Like Crazy sa Trinoma last Tuesday ay namataan namin, no less, si Virgie Ramos ng pamilyang nagma-may-ari ng chain of National Bookstores at lone franchisee ng timepiece from Switzerland, the much-desired Swatch, of which JOHN LLOYD is an endorser.
The PR department of Star Cinema, headed by Roxy Liquigan and his staff, Mico del Rosario and Mac Merla, made sure that the group of Virgie were properly attended to.
Alam kaya ni Roxy na ang isa sa grupo ni Virgie is an Ayala, na siyang nagma-may-ari ng Trinoma?
But what made daw (daw, ha) Virgie and her group’s night was when JOHN LLOYD, on his way to the stage (of Trinoma) with Bea, went out of his way to give Virgie a big and warm hug, as well as greeted Virgie’s companions with the big smile.
Sa totoo lang, Virgie has in her stable of Swatch endorsers some of the best and most popular talents in the local showbiz industry.

And according to my source, nag-e-enjoy raw sina Shaina at JOHN LLOYD sa isa’t isa.
