Got this from a blogspot of a girl named Tina. Hope she wouldn't mind if we post it here ...
Now that I've seen it...
It's time to make a review. So I watched my crushee JOHN LLOYD's movie on its first day of showing (instead of M. Night Shyamalan's The Village), so what huh?! Lol. What can I say about it? Here's the verdict:
John Llyod is a cutee! And he and Bea, hands down, look gorgeous together.
There. That was easy. *grins* Oh, am I supposed to comment on the movie too? Lol. Yeah okay. Here goes.
One word: Brilliant. After that ho-hum "All my Life", Direk Laurenti Dyogi redeems himself with his new romance-comedy flick "Now that I have you". I can disregard that Aga-Kristine starrer in his folio and just give him my props for this one. I say brilliant again.
The story is oh-so simple. Nothing that we haven't heard of yet, actually. Boy (Michael) with a square personality meets gregarious girl (Betsy). They fall inlove. They go through some tampuhan. They kiss and make up. But what makes it special is the creativity the director injected into it: The dream sequences taken from old movies (there are only 2. I wish there were more, or atleast a third one put towards the end of the film), the modern cupid, that waiter in the bar...even that brief Silka commercial spoof tickles! These added pizzaz are to the story what striking accesories are to a plain white shirt & jeans outfit. Attention was also given to details like kuripot Michael owning an old phone and kikay Bea being fond of pastel colors and trendy clothes. I just can't understand why the office flirt has to wear her party clothes to work
In the movie it is said that "love doesn't have to be ideal, it just have to be real". I say, a good movie doesn't always have to have a complicated storyline, it just have to be real.
Its tagline "it's your own love story" couldn't be more apt. What they show in the film are what normally happens in a couple's life. The dating stage, the possesiveness of a partner, the taken-for-granted feelings, the temptation to cheat, the ka-cornihan... It's funny how some scenes and dialogues look and sound familiar to me. Goes to show that the movie is so real. None of those cheesy tagalog movie lines that nobody utters in real life.
Kudos to the whole cast for giving worthwhile performances. The two lead stars are natural actors. I got tired of seeing JOHN LLOYD's jackets and Bea's white tank tops though. Nikki Valdez may forever be typecasted as the bestfriend to the leading lady, but I can say she's the best bestfriend around. And just when I thought John Arcilla was a mere display, on his 3rd appearance (yes I counted coz I was waiting for him to speak more than one line) he delivers a couple of interesting lines that make the scene one of the film's highlights. Bea's dad and bro are a funny beer drinking, social conscious duo. Rio Locsin play her rebel mom (how many times do you see an NPA for a mom in a movie? Clever huh.)
So if you liked Cluadine Baretto's Got to Believe, I'm sure you'd also like this one.

Anything that has Nikki Valdez in it gets my props! She's always been my crush even before she hooked up with that Troy Montero dude.
Nikki, you're soo fine!

I hated Got 2 Believe so I'll pass up on this one. Bakit kaya super baduy ng mga teen movies ngayon? How come they don't make movies like Bagets and Hotshots anymore?
