Initially making his mark in his string of sweet successes like “My First Romance” and “Now That I Have You”, “Dubai” will elevate JOHN LLOYD Cruz to his most mature role.

When Raffy gets employment in Dubai and experiences a comfortable life, younger brother Andrew follows having the same dreams and aspirations. “Ikaw Lamang”, the movie’s theme song is also a perfect signature. Interpreted and recorded by Gary Valenciano, this Ogie Alcasid original tune will surely enhance the inspirational and love mood the movie sends to everyone.
A movie that offers inspiration and hope and tells love is important to your aspirations in life and the fulfillment of your dreams. MALAYA ENTERTAINMENT STUDIO WHISPERs ETHEL RAMOS
Aga Muhlach might bring along wife Charlene Gonzales to Dubai when he attends the premiere of "Dubai," his latest movie with Claudine Barretto and JOHN LLOYD Cruz. The event, he heard, is set on September 28.
Most of the scenes in the movie were shot in Dubai. Aga was fascinated with the place, especially the tourist spots which are featured in the movie, like the marvelous skyscrapers in Shiek Zayed.
He likes the story of the movie. A collaboration between two award-winning story writers, Ricky Lee and Shaira Mella-Salvador, "Dubai" is the story of two brothers and the woman that come between them.
"It’s JOHN LLOYD’s first mature role, I’m told. Magaling siya dito. In the same manner na di rin matatawaran ang galing ni Claudine sa pag-arte sa pelikulang ito," Aga stated.
"Dubai" is his second movie with Claudine as leading lady. Their first movie together, "Kailangan Kita," which their "Dubai" director, Rory Quintos, also directed, was both a critical and commercial success. Star Cinema also produced it.
It was Aga who suggested that Gary Valenciano sing the theme song, "Ikaw Lamang," of "Dubai." Gary also sang the theme song of "All My Life," Aga’s blockbuster movie with Kristine Hermosa. The song, "How Did You Know," is now considered as one of Gary’s biggest recording hits. He will sing "How Did You Know" at his concert, "Gary V: Symphony of the Heart," at the Araneta Coliseum on September 2. Also included in his repertoire are "Kailangan Kita" and "Ikaw Lamang."
"I heard that in this particular concert, Gary V. will be accompanied by the 62-piece San Miguel Philharmonic Orchestra. It will have no less than maestro Ryan Cayabyab conducting.
"This concert I’ve got to see," Aga said.
Simultaneous with the premiere of "Dubai" in United Arab Emirates, the film will also open in more than 100 theaters here. Likewise, "Dubai" will be shown in Milan, Italy; San Francisco, USA; Vancouver, Canada; Vienna, Austria; Hawaii, Saipan and Guam.

Romancing ‘Dubai’
STAR Cinema’s next offering, the romance-drama "Dubai," scores a casting coup by putting together Aga Muhlach, Claudine Barretto, and JOHN LLOYD Cruz.
Directed by Rory B. Quintos from a screenplay by Ricky Lee and Shaira Mella Salvador, "Dubai" is the story of three overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and how fate radically changes their lives when their paths cross in Dubai, a city in the Middle East considered by many Filipinos as the land of their dreams.
Aga and JOHN LLOYD play brothers Raffy and Andrew who came from humble beginnings but who share a dream of a better life. When Raffy finds a good-paying job in Dubai and gets settled there, he asks Andrew to follow. Things go well between he brothers until Claudine as Faye, also an OFW in Dubai, enters their lives.
Dubai is the first movie together of Aga and Claudine after the hit romance-drama "Kaila-ngan Kita" also directed by Rory B. Quintos. The movie marks the graduation of JOHN LLOYD to a real mature role.
Besides a poignant love story," "Dubai" offers moviegoers a front-seat view of some of that city’s breathtaking scenic spots, including the skyscrapers of Shiek Zayed and Al Ain cities, the camels and the vast Sand Dunes.
"Dubai" opens worldwide on Sept. 28 in Dubai, Milan, San Francisco, Vancouver, Saipan, Guam, and Vienna, simultaneously with more than 100 theaters across the Philippines.
