Jomari Yllana looks forward to returning to ‘Imortal’
Jomari Yllana never had any hesitation about accepting the role of JOHN LLOYD Cruz’s father in the teleserye Imortal. Jomari told Push.com.ph that he was just very excited about the chance to work with JOHN LLOYD, who is seven years younger. Jomari has previously played father to Anne Curtis in the teleserye Kampanerang Kuba.
In Imortal, Jomari’s character Roman was last seen dueling with a vicious werewolf. He explained, “Namatay talaga ‘yung character ko. Jomari is still waiting for word from Imortal’s producers on when he will resume taping. For now he is busy shooting a movie directed by Marilou Diaz Abaya.
Jomari started shooting Imortal shortly after the burial of his brother Robbie Yllana who died of cardiac arrest. While still grieving, Jomari had to get back to work which also posed challenges for him physically. “Kasi sa bilang ko ng araw na na taping ko for the pilot week, ‘yung Monday to Friday na episodes, kung hindi ako nagkakamali mga 22 o 23 taping days ko ginawa. It was very, very short nung ipalabas pero nung i-shoot namin ang tagal. Iniiyakan ko na talaga ‘yung set. Mahirap ‘yung lugar, bundok.
But he instantly realized that all the hard work was worth it when the pilot week of Imortal scored big in the national TV ratings.
